Africa Oil Week

Benchmark Collective pioneered a first-ever delegate rebook initiative for Africa Oil Week, driving early registration and forward-booking revenue ahead of the 2022 event.

Africa Oil Week had never offered delegates the opportunity to register and commit early. As part of a new commercial initiative, Hyve Group wanted to trial an onsite delegate rebook at AOW 2021 — bringing forward delegate revenue, rewarding early commitment with best-available pricing, and bundling access to the newly launching Green Africa Energy Summit as an added incentive.

Benchmark were selected for their existing deep knowledge of AOW and its highly senior delegate audience — an invaluable asset for a concept that had never been attempted at this event before.

What we delivered

  • Designed and led Africa Oil Week's first-ever onsite delegate rebooking initiative
  • Early registration offered at best-available pricing to drive urgency and forward commitment
  • Bundled free access to the new Green Africa Energy Summit as a delegate rebooking incentive
  • Leveraged deep event knowledge to build credibility and trust with senior delegates
  • Proof-of-concept delivered — early onsite delegate rebook confirmed as a permanent future offering
  • Foundation laid for a growing delegate revenue stream at future Africa Oil Week editions

We were delighted to trial the delegate rebook concept with Benchmark Collective at Africa Oil Week 2021. Benchmark’s previous experience with exhibitor rebooking meant that they had an invaluable understanding of our unique event and our clients, which was essential to trial this concept. We were pleased with the results for an initial trial and will be looking to further develop the delegate onsite rebook at future editions in consultation with the Benchmark team
